An important source of financial aid is through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The first step is to set up an account here.
Scholarships
Every dollar is important, so do not overlook scholarships provided by employers, unions, churches and service groups with which you are associated. All applications have a deadline and most require the submission of specific documents, such as a transcript and an essay, so read the directions closely.
Applications are also available in the LHS Guidance Office.
For those who plan on attending a SUNY or CUNY school and whose family income is less than $125,000 per year can qualify for free tuition. For more details and how to apply for the Excelsior Scholarship, visit the program page.
The Brian Ingber Memorial Foundation Scholarship
In order to qualify, students must be enrolled as a high school senior within Sullivan County, graduating in June and in good academic standing. The applicant must exemplify the ideals of volunteerism, service within school/community, be of good moral and ethical character, and be a well-rounded student that is seeking employment that demonstrates a commitment to community service or seeking to further their education in a field of study that will result in improving the quality of their community.

Swan Lake Fire Dept. – Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship
Must live in the Swan Lake Fire Dept. District. Scholarship award requires that you attend college/trade school in the fall after graduation. Submit an essay on community service and why you feel you are the best candidate for the scholarship. Completed essays should be turned into the guidance department before the due date. Scholarship winners will be determined by the Liberty HS scholarship committee.

Liberty Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship
The Scholarship Committee of the Liberty Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will review all qualifying applications. The recipient will be notified in June. A check for $1,000 will be presented or mailed to the applicant awarded the scholarship upon receipt for paid tuition and a letter from the Office of the Registrar confirming enrollment.

Liberty Booster Club
The Liberty Booster Club Scholarship has been established for the purpose of assisting a minimum of two Liberty High School student-athletes who plan to further their education. See Guidance for application.

White Sulphur Springs Fire Department & Ladies Aux Scholarship
Applicant must be a graduating senior who resides in the White Sulphur Springs Fire District or whose parent is a member, in good standing of either the WSS Fire Dept of Ladies Auxiliary or the applicant themselves is a member in good standing of either the WSS Fire Dept or Ladies Auxiliary and is entering a college, university or vocational school. Applications must be accompanied by: a copy of the applicant’s high school transcript, most recent report card and letter(s) of verification to part 1 of this application.

Any Make, Any Model Car Club Scholarship
This is a $500 scholarship open to any student interested in pursuing a career in the automotive field. The scholarship will apply to any college or trade school. The payment will be distributed after the class schedule of the awarded student is provided to the address on the application. The student must complete a full year of classes or forfeit the scholarship money and return the funds to the Any Make, Any Model Car Club.
